The Ka'ena Aloha Series
Project Overview
To have an 'ena aloha is to have a deep affection and love for something. We titled this series of stories The Ka'ena Aloha Series because of the great love that we have for our community, and the pouring out of love that members of the community have shown to us in the creation of these books.
We had no funding of any kind, and yet were able to create an amazing collection of nearly lost stories of ancient Hawai'i. What started as a small idea turned in to a non-profit organization with an all-Hawaiian powerhouse board of directors, eight amazingly talented Hawaiian photographers who donated all their time and their work, over 100 beautiful Hawaiian models who's contribution to this project is priceless, and all the generous community members who lent us their canoes, weapons, fish nets, sewing skills, make-up skills, and much, much more.
We hope you enjoy each and every story that we have lovingly created and continue to pass them on to your loved ones so that they may never die.
