Get Involved

Without the help and assistance of many of our community members, we would have never been able to accomplish what we did with absolutely no funding.  We are always looking for kokua in the following ways and would appreciate any contribution you'd be interested in providing:

• Volunteering your time (spreading the word, sewing costumes, make-up artistry, graphic design, blogging, editing, Hawaiian language research and translation, etc.)
• Grant seekers/Grant Writers (The more funding we can secure, the more projects we can create, and thus bring more stories to our people and the world.)
• Model Scouts (we are always looking for Hawaiian residents to be models for our next project!)
  
• Photographers (we will be needing 8 Native Hawaiian photographers from each district to donate one or two days of shooting to bring these books to life.  Please send us your contact information.)
  
• Use of your Items (for many of the mo'olelo, or stories, we needed to borrow a number of items for the photoshoots, including canoes, paddles, fish nets, kapa cloth, gourds, paints, material, Hawaiian weapons and other artifacts, even the fresh fish that a fisherman had just caught that morning.  If you have any of these types of items, we would love to borrow, and care for them for the duration of our photo shoot.)
• Donations of food for our models and photographers during the photo shoots.  If you're known for making a mean spam musubi, we'd appreciate it!

We are so grateful to those who have been generous with their money and have freely given to our organization to see our vision of putting Hawaiian stories into the hands of hundreds of children become a reality.  Any amount that you would like to donate to our organization would be greatly appreciated.

100% of donations are used in the following ways:

• Scholarship fund for project participants
• Paid internships for college students
• For the publishing of books not covered under grant monies and given as gifts for different organizations or families.
